Doctoral program

Training of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff is carried out through doctoral studies with the highest level of higher education and ends with the award of relevant scientific degrees (Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science). The doctoral department was established in 1977 at the Azerbaijan Institute of Construction Engineers.

Training of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction is carried out through doctoral studies, doctorates and dissertations at the highest level of higher education. The main purpose of the doctoral department is to train highly qualified specialists, scientific and pedagogical staff. Doctoral education is carried out in full-time (with separation from production) and correspondence (without separation from production) programs of Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Sciences. At the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, which carries out doctoral education, it also carries out the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff through dissertation (dissertation). Doctoral education is carried out at the expense of the state or on a paid basis, and the duration of study is 3 years full-time, 4 years part-time, 4 years by dissertation. The duration of full-time study in the doctoral program is 4 years, 5 years by correspondence, 5 years by dissertation. In exceptional cases, the period of study may be extended for all forms of education. Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan with higher education (graduating from the master's level of higher education or equivalent education) are admitted to the doctoral program on the basis of competition. The doctoral department has an information retrieval system. At present, the total number of doctoral students and dissertators on the Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science programs is 101 (including 54 doctoral students, 21 dissertators, 16 dissertators on the Doctor of Science program).

In the last three years, four people have received doctorates. 15 doctors of philosophy and 2 doctors of sciences passed the initial discussion of the dissertation and were recommended for the main defense. Their scientific publications meet the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission and their dissertations have been tested in the anti-plagiarism system.

Foreign language and specialty subjects are taught in the doctoral program. Tuition is AZN 1,500 for Architecture and Economics, and AZN 1,400 for other specialties.
