AzUAC Celebrates March 8 - International Women’s Day


A magnificent festive concert dedicated to March 8 - International Women’s Day was held at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC).

 

The concert, organized by the Student Youth UnionCommittee (SYUC) of the university, was attended by AzUAC’s rector, Professor Gulchohra Mammadova, female teachers and staff, and female students of the university.

Speaking at the event, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Professor Akif Gasimov on behalf of the women working and studying at AzUAC congratulated all Azerbaijani women on the occasion of March 8 - International Women’s Day, wishing each of them a happy and prosperous life, family happiness, and success in all their endeavors. “When talking about the Azerbaijani woman, the image of a woman who protects and takes care of the family was always highlighted, but today along with all these, our women are at the forefront in all areas of our lives. They actively participate in public life and achieve success,” said Akif Gasimov. 

He emphasized the significant role of Azerbaijani women in society, noting their active participation in public life and achievements. He also provided brief information about the history of this significant date, which is celebrated annually in many countries around the world.

 

The event presenters gave brief information about this significant date, which is celebrated every year in many countries worldwide. Highlighting the contributions of Azerbaijani women throughout history, the organizers noted their talent, intelligence, and determination in preserving our national moral values. They emphasized the special role played by Azerbaijani women in the country’s current social, political, economic, and cultural life. The speakers also noted that the Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War was due to the Azerbaijani women, whose sons wrote the Victory with their blood. 

They extended their congratulations and heartfelt wishes to the mothers and wives of martyrs, to the life companions of soldiers who lost their health in battles, to the mothers of worthy sons raised for the nation, and to all women as exemplified by them.

 

The event continued with artistic performances. The concert accompanied by rich vocal performances by thestudents created a true festive atmosphere and enjoyable experience for the women in attendance. During the performance, the famous songs such as “Eşqin növrağı” (“Child of my Love”) from the film “Stepmother”, “Irəvanda xal qalmadı” (“No spots left in Irevan”, famous songs by Polad Bulbuoghly, such as “My Homeland, My Mother”, and “Beloved Mother” were performed, accompanied by recitations of poems dedicated to mothers and women.Ğ
