March 1 - World Civil Defense Day was celebrated at AzUAC.

 

An event dedicated to “March 1st - World Civil Defense Day” was held at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC). 

 

Before the ceremony, participants watched a video prepared jointly by the Civil Defense Headquarters and the Department of Emergency Situations and Life Safety of AzUAC.

 

Agil Mammadov, the Vice-Rector for General Affairs of the university, opened the event with a speech, congratulating everyone on the occasion of World Civil Defense Day and emphasizing the significance of this day. The Vice-Rector highlighted the comprehensive efforts made in civil defense in Azerbaijan, including at AzUAC, and noted the ongoing educational activities conducted among the population.

 

Following this, presentations were delivered by the faculty members of the Department of Emergency Situations and Life Safety of AzUAC - Associate Professor Emil Gafarovon the topic “The purpose of civil defense education,” andAssociate Professor Sayavush Gozalov on the topic “The formation of psychological resilience in emergency situations.”

 

After the presentations, a documentary film reflecting the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was demonstrated.

 

Finally, Ahmad Abdullayev, the head of the Civil Defense Headquarters, delivered a speech, highlighting the increasing relevance of civil defense in the context of military, political, and environmental events worldwide. He expressed gratitude to the university leadership for their support in organizing the event.
