A delegation of Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) of Turkey was on a visit to the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.
First, the delegation visited the Alley of Honor and the grave of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of our people and laid flowers in front of his bust.
They also visited the Martyrs’ Alley and “Turkish Martyrdom” monument in Baku.
Professor Gulchohra Mammadova, the rector of AzUAC, greeted the guests, and expressed her pleasure to see them at the university. The rector spoke about the active collaboration relationships of AzUAC with the prestigious universities and appropriate entities of Turkey. She noted that there is a high demand for the specialization of melioration and water conservancy construction engineering and professional development in this field is important in light of global water crisis in the world.
Noting that students of AzUAC participate in internships programs in various entities of ISKI every year within the framework of cooperation with ISKI, the rector stressed the significance of further expanding collaboration relationships in the future.
Kurtulush Gemijioghlu, the head of ISKI department, expressed his gratitude to the university administration for the warm welcome and spoke about Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship and brotherhood.
The guest mentioned how much ISKI values its cooperation with AzUAC. He spoke about planning and design measures of water supply and sewage systems carried out by the Turkish entity that he represents.
Later, presentations were made about AzUAC and ISKI. The documentary “ISKI - 90 years” was screened.
Kurtulush Gemijioghlu, the head of ISKI department and Professor Gulchohra Mammadova exchanged the letters of gratitude and symbolic gifts.
It should be noted that in the delegation led by Kurtulush Gemijioghlu, Head of ISKI department, there were Sejaattin Varer, Head of the Water Construction Department, Ozlem Karaja, Head of the Education Department, Osman Tamer Sonmez, Head of the Energy Management Department, Samet Kiran, Head of the Water Losses and Pressure Management Department of Asia, Omer Turashlı, Head of the Department of Two-Wire Water Treatment, Ughur Orun, Head of the 2nd European Region Wastewater Treatment Department and Mehmet Fatih Kayin, Head of the Occupational Health and Safety Department.
The visit of the delegation will continue till the 3rd of November.
