AzUAC Has Opened a New Laboratory Where Students Will Work on Actual in Civil Engineering Projects
The Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC) held the opening of its “Design in Civil Engineering” laboratory.
The laboratory was created with the support of the company on the basis of a cooperation agreement between AzUAC and “ProYapı”, the Turkish company which is actively involved in construction work in our territories liberated from occupation.
Professor Gulchohra Mamedova, the rector of AzUAC, Akif Aygen, the executive director of “ProYapı”, engineers of the company, as well as professors and teachers of the university took part in the opening ceremony.
First, a video about the activities of “ProYapı” company and its large-scale projects was demonstrated.
In her speech Rector Professor Gulchohra Mammadova drew attention to the fraternal relations between the states of Azerbaijan and Turkey, and thanked the management of “ProYapı” Company for the support provided in the creation of the laboratory.
Drawing attention to the fact that, in addition to teaching, priority attention is also paid to the development of practical skills in personnel training, the rector spoke about the cooperation of AzUAC with a number of local and international organizations, including “ProYapı” Company. Professor Gulchohra Mammadova noted that the internship of students of AzUAC in “ProYapı” Company greatly contributes to their deeper assimilation of professional knowledge: “The construction work carried out in our territories liberated from occupation under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the “Great Return” process is of strategic importance and we are proud of these events. In this regard, the activities of “ProYapı” Company in these territories, the cooperation of our university with the company and the involvement of our students in practice are also of great importance.
Akif Aygen, the executive director of “ProYapı”, spoke and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the company and the university. Akif Aygen noted that personnel issues are one of the most pressing issues for manufacturing enterprises. He pointed out that the development of relations with the university gives great impetus to the work to provide the company with human resources, as well as to study some production-related issues, apply innovative scientific developments and ultimately increase efficiency.
Sahib Farzaliyev, the dean of the Faculty of Construction of AzUAC drew attention to the importance of the laboratory in teaching-learning process. The dean noted that the laboratory will allow faculty staff to visually instruct students in the design work of construction engineering field.
It should be noted that final-year students of the engineering and construction specialty of AzUAC will prepare project lessons in groups in the laboratory. This will contribute to a more organized process of training personnel in the field of civil engineering and at the same time the revival of the construction industry of our country by providing with more professional personnel.
The laboratory is equipped with a total of sixteen computers with a special software. Students will undertake actual construction projects in civil engineering and will learn from professionals working in the field of design in this laboratory.
