An American Specialist at AzUFC is Studying the Subject of Modernist Public Architecture in Azerbaijan
Lincoln Nemetz-Carlson, a specialist from the United States of America, is conducting scientific research at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC) within the framework of the Fulbright Program.
The researcher assigned to the Department of Architectural Design and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Architecture will work at the university during the academic year 2023-2024.
Lincoln Nemetz-Carlson has started his research on “Modernist Public Architecture Designed and Built in Azerbaijan During the Period of 1970-1980”. He uses the rich library сollection and electronic resources of the university in his research work. In addition, the specialist also studies the Azerbaijani language.
From the first day of his arrival in the country, the researcher has been visiting the historical monuments and places of Azerbaijan, together with the staff of the department is getting acquainted with the historical buildings of “Ateshgah Temple” State Historical-Architectural Reserve, “Gala” State Historical-Ethnographic Reserve, Gobustan State Historical and Cultural Reserve, and historical buildings located in the administrative area of “Icherisheher” State Historical-Architectural Reserve.
It should be noted that within the framework of the Fulbright Program, two specialists from the USA are visiting AzUAC this academic year. They are actively communicating with teachers of the department and students of the faculty and share the experience of higher education and scientific innovations achieved in the USA in the field of architecture.
