Students and Schoolchildren Together: Conference and Exhibition on Environmental Issues Held at AzUAC

A conference and exhibition titled "Research on Soil Water Resources and Ecological Assessment of the Atmosphere” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, was held at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC).

The conference and exhibition were organized with the support of AzUAC's Department of Ecology, the National Aerospace Agency, and the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry."

AzUAC's master's students, 46 schoolchildren and 25 teachers from Baku, Sumgayit, Khachmaz, Shamakhi, Jalilabad, Kurdamir, Ujar, and Agdam participated in the event.

In her speech, Professor Gulcohra Mammadova, the rector of AzUAC, greeted the participants of the event and stated that dedicating the event to the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev is not coincidental. Drawing attention to the multi- branched activities of the great leader, the rector highlighted that as with his other services to our country and people, Heydar Aliyev has also rendered strategic services in the protection of our country's ecology and environment. Professor Gulcohra Mammadova mentioned that the ecological balance principles adopted during the era of the national leader are being successfully continued, stressing the importance of holding such events in ensuring the preservation of our country's ecological balance and further enhancing the country's potential in specialized expertise in ecology.

During her speech, Professor Gulcohra Mammadova highlighted the laboratories established at AzUAC for ecological research and drew attention to the teachingstaff engaged in personnel training. She encouraged students showing interest in ecological issues, inviting them to join AzUAC and pursue a specialization in environmental engineering. 

Professor Natig Javadov, the Director of the National Aerospace Agency, delivered a speech underscoring the importance of the event. The Agency Director spoke about the collaboration between the agency and AzUAC, particularly with the university's Department of Ecology, expressing satisfaction with their partnership.

Professor Fagan Aliyev, the head of AzUAC's Department of Ecology, emphasized the scientific and mass significance of the conference, noting that the exhibition provides practical insights for students and pupils, fostering teamwork skills.

After the speeches, teachers, students, and pupils had the opportunity to view the exhibition, which consisted of hands-on displays. The exhibition showcased models, projects, and prototypes related to soil water resources, atmosphere, and ecology in general. At the end of the conference, a tour of AzUAC was organized for the school students, and certificates were presented to the participants.
