Seminar on “The Construction and Design of Multi-Storey Buildings” Held at Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC)
A seminar was conducted at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC) within the expanded composition of the Department of Construction Structures. The seminar was organized by the Department of Construction Structures, which included professors, lecturers, doctoral students, and undergraduate students from the Faculty of Construction of AzUAC, as well as renowned constructors of our Republic and engineers working in the industry.
During the seminar, Associate Professor Huseyn Khalilov delivered a presentation titled "Some Issues Regarding the Design of Multi-Storey Buildings."
In his presentation, the speaker provided detailed information on the influence of underground aquifers on the overall height and load-bearing capacity of multi-storey buildings during structural calculations. He also discussed the calculation of forces accepted by the frame when diaphragms are cut and uncut. Additionally, the seminar touched upon topics such as the negative and positive aspects of using piles in the design of buildings in earthquake-prone areas, existing problems in normative and regulatory documents related to structural design, and so on.
Following the presentation, there were extensive discussions on the topic.
