Charity Fair for Children with Down Syndrome Held at AzUAC
Today, a charity fair called "Goygurshaghi" (“Rainbow”) was held at the Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University (AzUAC) for children with Down syndrome. Under the slogan "Good friends don't count chromosomes!" the main purpose of the event was to ensure the active participation of these children in society, both spiritually and materially. Children from the Down Syndrome Rehabilitation Center, operating under the Care-Healthy Generation Public Association, also participated in the fair.
Organized by the Student Trade Union Committee of AzUAC, the sale-exhibition saw active participation from university faculty, staff, and students. Visitors were drawn to various handmade crafts, embroidery samples, different handicrafts, stone and shell jewelry, honey, fishnet, and glass souvenirs, as well as art pieces prepared by the students. Everyone participated in shopping and providing material support to children with Down syndrome.
The rector of AzUAC, Professor GulchohraMammadova, applauded the initiative of the students and emphasized the importance of organizing such events. The rector also had the opportunity to meet and converse with the children from the Down Syndrome Rehabilitation Center.
It should be noted that the proceeds from the sale of the exhibited products at the fair will be directed towards meeting the daily needs of children with Down syndrome.
