Graduates of the Faculty of Architecture Awarded Diplomas from MOOCAO

Today, diplomas were presented to a group of graduates from the Faculty of Architecture at Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC), who were the winners of the XXIX online competition for graduation projects in Architecture and Design organized under the leadership of MOOCAO (Interregional Public Organization for the Promotion of Architectural Education, Russia) and the organization of the Moscow Institute of Architecture. The ceremony was attended by vice-rector for Academic Affairs at AzUAC Akif Gasimov, the president of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan and professor Elbay Gasimzadeh, the director of the Italy-Azerbaijan Design Center Farid Kerimov, and head of the Design department Tarana Bakirova, who presented the diplomas.

The dean of the Faculty of Architecture Zahida Mammadova, opened the event with an introductory speech, providing information about the competition. She noted that last year in April, the online competition, attended by hundreds of participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Armenia was organized under the leadership of MOOCAO and the organization of the Moscow Institute of Architecture. Students enrolled at the bachelor's and master's levels in the Faculty of Architecture participated in the competition and their graduation projects were highly praised, earning them diplomas of the 1st (8 projects) and 2nd (19 projects) degrees from MOOCAO. Z. Mammadova mentioned that due to quarantine regulations, the presentation of diplomas was delayed and she informed that the deserving students had already graduated. She congratulated the winners and highlighted that graduates Tahmasib Mollaeyyublu and Maryam Rahimli also earned additional diplomas from the Moscow Institute of Architecture (MARKHI). The dean emphasized that among the students awarded the 1st degree diplomas, Husniyya Karimova and Susan Malikova's projects were related to the restoration of monuments in the liberated city of Shusha.

During the event, vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Akif Gasimov and professor Elbay Gasimzadeh congratulated the winning students and wished them success.

It is worth noting that the textbooks, teaching materials and other resources prepared by the faculty members of the Faculty of Architecture were also awarded diplomas in the competition. The Union of Architects of Azerbaijan also rewarded these teachers.
