International projects
The Strategic Planning Department has led many international projects. At the same time, it was represented in projects as an executive team.
Creative Spark: Higher Education Institution Program
Creative Spark with the support of the United Kingdom is a five-year project designed to support inter-university and institutional cooperation at the international level to develop business skills and creative economies in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan), South Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia) and Ukraine (seven countries in total) .
Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction also had the opportunity to join the international program. Thus, AzUAC has won 2 projects and cooperates with both the University of South Bank of London and the University of Leicester. The purpose of the Creative Spark program is to develop the entrepreneurial skills and English language of students studying in the region, as well as to support their ideas in this direction. In the first year (2018-2019), 50,000 pounds ($ 64,000) and the second year (2019-2020) were allocated to support each partnership.
Activities carried out at AzAU within the project:
In March 2019, Linsey Cole, a representative of the University of South Bank in London, UK, conducted a week-long intensive training for teachers and students.
In June 2019, during the visit of experts Ivana Kraincanic and Linsey Cole to AzUAC, they held workshops on personal development and entrepreneurial skills development for teachers and students.
Within the framework of the project, first intra-university start-up competition and then 3 teams became national champions.
Seven Mohammadpur, a student of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Azerbaijan, became the champion of the British Council-Great Idea startup competition in Azerbaijan. The student traveled to the UK and won a cash prize of £ 3,000.
As part of the project, experts from the University of Leicester regularly conduct specialized academic English language courses for university teachers.
In 2020, a 6-month online English language course was launched at the University in the framework of the Creative Spark program implemented by the British Council. 20 young staff and students of the university who participated in the course were provided with an international British Council certificate. In 2021, members of the Innovative Business Incubator took part in the Big Idea Competition. Mammadov participated in the Elnur Creative category with his "Stork" startup project and took first place in that category. Mirzayeva Gulnara participated in the Digital Technology category with her TechnoHealth startup project and became the national voting champion for Azerbaijan.
